Who We Are
GateOne ("we", "us", "our") is a mobile application that helps parents manage their children's screen time through educational math challenges. We are operated by GateOne Inc.

What Information We Collect
From parents (account holders)
- Name and email address (to create your account)
- Payment information (processed by Stripe — we never store your card details)
- Device information and IP address
From child profiles
- First name or nickname (you provide this — do not enter a full legal name)
- Age range (to calibrate math difficulty)
- Math quiz performance data (scores, speed, topic progress)
- App usage patterns within GateOne
We do NOT collect
- Photos, videos, or microphone access
- Location data
- Social profiles or contacts
- Any data directly from children under 13 without verifiable parental consent
Children's Privacy (COPPA)
GateOne is a tool operated by parents, for use on their children's devices. All accounts are created and managed by parents or legal guardians. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13.
Child profiles are sub-accounts under the parent account. The parent controls all data associated with their child's profile. If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a child without your consent, contact us immediately at privacy@gateone.app and we will delete it within 72 hours.
How We Use Your Information
- To provide and improve the GateOne service
- To process your subscription payments
- To send account-related emails (receipts, password resets, product updates)
- To generate your child's progress reports inside the app
- To improve our math curriculum based on aggregate, anonymised performance data
We do not sell your data. We do not use child profile data for advertising.
Data Sharing
We share data only with:
- Stripe — payment processing
- Apple — iOS platform services (subject to Apple's privacy policy)
- Analytics providers — aggregate, anonymised usage data only (no personal identifiers)
We will disclose data if required by law, court order, or to protect the safety of our users.
Data Retention
- Active account data: retained while your subscription is active
- After account deletion: personal data deleted within 30 days; anonymised aggregate data may be retained
- Payment records: retained for 7 years as required by law
Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export the personal data we hold about you, and to opt out of non-essential communications. To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@gateone.app. We will respond within 30 days.
California residents (CCPA)
You have the right to know what data we collect, request deletion, and opt out of sale. We do not sell data.
EU/UK residents (GDPR)
Our lawful basis for processing is contract performance and legitimate interests. You have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
Security
We use industry-standard encryption (TLS in transit, AES-256 at rest). Parent PINs are hashed and never stored in plain text. We conduct regular security reviews. No system is 100% secure — if you suspect a breach, contact us immediately at privacy@gateone.app.
Changes to This Policy
We will notify you by email and in-app notice at least 14 days before any material changes take effect. Continued use after that date constitutes acceptance.
